Used Books

One of the benefits of membership is the privilege of being able to sell or purchase used curriculum at the convention. Any active SHBE Members may arrange to have items sold at the Convention.  Click here to fill out a form to sell at the Convention if you will not be able to attend, or indicate on your Registration form that you wish to sell.  An inventory code and form will be emailed to you in advance of the Convention.

Additional Information:

  • SHBE Members may sell (no free items permitted) used material in good condition (primarily books and curricula). Space may be limited. At the sole discretion of the Used Book Sale Coordinator, learning resources will be prioritized for display as space allows (resources in poor condition or not deemed educational will not be prioritized for display).
  • All SHBE Members attending the convention may shop in the Used Book Sale. There is no Shopping-only registration option, even for those selling at the Used Book Sale.

For further information or any questions, please email Francie Munchinsky at usedbooks -AT- shbe.ca*

‘Can I REALLY do this?’ Workshop

This popular homeschooling workshop is the ideal place to start. This workshop will answer questions from anyone considering homeschooling, and from anyone ready to start their homeschool journey. Questions like, “Is homeschooling legal?”, “Am I qualified?”, “Where do I start?”, and “How do I start?”

Join us Friday, February 23, 2024 for this workshop. This workshop is free, but to attend any other parts of the convention, you will need to register.

Homeschool Completion Ceremony

We are pleased to once again host the Homeschool Completion Recognition Ceremony. The ceremony will take place on Saturday afternoon prior to the final plenary session, in honour of students completing formal homeschool studies in the spring of 2024. Both parents and grads will be introduced.  Anyone interested in participating in this event can indicate so on their registration form, and they will be contacted with additional information.

For more information about this event, please email recognition -AT- shbe.ca*

Grandparents

Grandparents are invited to join us at our Convention at a reduced rate!   This includes those grandparents who have graduated all of their children (are not actively homeschooling) & want to attend with their child who is now homeschooling their grandchildren. The fee will cover your weekend, including lunch on Saturday.
